Q: What qualifies a contractor to use your service?

The contractor must be on multiple temporary assignments earning over £8 per hour and incur genuine business expenses.


Q: How much do you charge?

£28.41 per week Gross (£16.97 net)

PayMatters Accountancy Fees from £15 per week plus VAT.

Q: Can I claim expenses?

Yes. A contractor can claim tax relief on any expenses which are incurred wholly, exclusively and necessarily for their contract. Contractors can claim a broad range of expenses as tax relief such as travel, subsistence, business calls, stationary, books, tools, uniform, professional subscriptions, car parking, toll roads and many more. Our new business advisors will be more than happy to go over an extensive list.


Q: What level of insurance do you offer?

£10 million liability cover for Employers liability.

£5 million liability cover for Public / Productions liability.

£5 million liability cover for Professional indemnity.

PayMatters insure with A+ rated insurers such as Hiscox and Zurich and offer one of the most comprehensive insurance packages on the market.


Q: Is there a minimum joining period?

No there is no minimum joining period for PayMatters Umbrella. PayMatters pride ourselves on a ‘no-catch’ service. There is no charge for signing up or leaving our Umbrella service.


Q: How do you ensure compliance with legislation?

PayMatters are regularly audited by external auditors such as “Professional Passport” and “APSCO”.

PayMatters are fully UK based and operate a compliant umbrella PAYE model. PayMatters have a five strong compliance and expenses team who keep on track of all compliance issues and changing HMRC legislation.
